Mustangs Host Force of Illinois on Saturday!
The Indiana Mustangs (1 - 1) are hosting the Force of Illinois on Saturday, July 23rd, at Tri-Central High School.  Kickoff is scheduled for 7 pm at Tri-Central High School.  The Mustangs are planning an "Alumni Night" for former players.  All former Mustang players and their family members are invited to attend Saturday's game as these former players will be honored at halftime.  The Mustangs will also honor the players who participated on the 1995 team that went 10 - 0 during the regular season that year and was ranked #1 in the American Football Association's national poll.  This is the Mustangs 15th season of operation, and the team has an overall won-loss record of 117 - 59 thus giving the Mustangs the distinction of being the longest running and most successful semi-pro football team in Indiana.

The Force of Illinois are members of the Mid-States Football League, and the Mustangs dropped their home opener 22 - 25 to the Chicago Wolverines who are also members of the MSFL.  Despite losing, new Mustang running back Donnie Mimms (Lawrence Central and Indiana State) scored three touchdowns and a 2-point conversion to lead the Mustang scoring.  Kenny Beatty finished the game with 82 yards rushing on 11 carries and 4 receptions.  Peni Faitele and Ramon Stallings lead the team in tackles with 6 tackles respectively.  Faitele also had a sack and fumble recovery.

Tri-Central's football team is planning to grill hamburgers, brats and hot dogs for this game as well as providing concessions with all proceeds going to support the Tri-Central Booster Club.  Admission to the game is $6 for adults and $3 for children ages 7 through college and senior citizens.  Children ages 6 and under are free.  The Mustangs also offer a family price of $12 for all immediate family members.  Season passes are still available at the gate for $20 or $40 for a Family Season Pass.

The Mustangs are still looking for players, volunteers and sponsors.  Please contact James Stamper @ 1-800-437-3294 if you are interested in becoming involved with the 2005 Mustangs.
