Gone But Not Forgotten AFA Board Member Bill Christie (Hall of Fame Class of 2011)

It is with extreme sadness that I inform you of the passing of AFA Board Member, Bill Christie.

Bill was a very close friend and confidant of AFA Founder, Ron Real and provided legal support to the AFA over the years. 

In Memory of William Koloff Christie
May 18, 1929 - November 21, 2013

Of Jackson, passed away at the age of 84, on Thursday, November 21, 2013 and is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Bonnie Christie; son, Bryan (Shawn) Christie and granddaughter, Cassidy Christie; adoring sister, Mrs. Vangel (Nora) Christoff as well as many nieces, nephews and loving family members of Jackson and Canada. He was preceded in death by seven brothers, Tryco, Nicholas, George, Ted, Samuel, Alexander and Daniel "Barney". Mr. Christie was born May 18, 1929 in Toronto Ontario, Canada to Christo and Christine Koloff and graduated from Jarvis Colligate High School then moved to Jackson as a young man, where he graduated from Jackson Jr. College. Then went on to attend and Graduate the University of Detroit Law School in the 1950's. He practiced Law in Jackson for 55 years, was a loyal, hardworking family man and always willing to help anyone when able. Mr. Christie had a giving heart and was always generous to family and friends. He had a shared passion of horses with his brothers and enjoyed spending time traveling and attending the Kentucky Derby as well as other famous race tracks. He touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed. A funeral service will be held at St. Demetrius Orthodox Church (3043 Seymour Rd. Jackson) on Monday, November 25, 2013 at 11:00AM with Fr. Dusan Koprivica officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8PM. A Panihida Service will be at 7:00PM. Visitation will also be held on Monday at the Church from 10:00AM until the time of service. Mr. Christie will be laid to rest at Woodland Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to St. Demetrius Church will be appreciated.
