American Football Association Hall of Fame Nomination Prerequisites: •Individuals cannot self nominate •Individuals seeking to submit a nomination must be 'members in good standing' (dues paying members) of the AFA's Alumni Assn or an AFA Member League. •Players are eligible only upon retirement as an active player after 5 years. •To eliminate confusion with other Hall of Fame organizations (e.g. Pro Football HoF, et. al.), current membership in another hall of fame automatically disqualifies a potential nominee to the AFA's Hall of Fame | | | | | 2011 AFA Alumni Club Membership - Are You A Card Carrying Member? Recently I had the opportunity to chat with the owner of Chicago Knitting Mills regarding design and manufacture of AFA's Hall of Fame jacket. During our conversation I mentioned that I purchased a fraternity sweater from Logan Knitting Mills in 1967 and it still looks brand new. The owner, Bob Sol then responded that he had previously partnered with Logan Knitting Mills but decided to start his current business once Logan Knitting Mills went out of business in the late 1960's. Needless to say, I immediately gave him permission to be exclusive distributor for design/production of the American Football Association's football jackets because of my personal experience with the quality of his work over the years, including the jackets he did for the Elmhurst Travelers Alumni Club 2 years ago. Interesting how things are connected ......Bob was very pleased to hear how satisfied I was with his previous products! With that said, we are pleased to announce that AFA Hall of Fame jackets are now available for purchase directly from Chicago Knitting Mills.....and yes, they do have the plus sizes 2X -- 5X! Just send an email to amerfoot@aol.com to obtain an order form. I would like to express my sincere thanks to Keith Ballard, AFA Hall of Fame Class of 2010 for initiating this project; I can tell you he's really excited about his jacket! I think it marks a new era in at least the NFL Alumni's development that we were able to put forth an agenda that talked about the increased benefits that we are hoping to gain under my administration. We also talked about the long-term care that was passed earlier this month which we all applauded as alumni, and we also talked about disability benefits and how we can ease the pain and suffering of many of our alumni and make sure that we streamline the process as well. So it was a very positive meeting that was very well received, and on behalf of my members and constituents, we were just pleased with the results. http://campaign.r20.constantcontact.com/render?llr=ifadhsdab&v=001qwhULkbmHDsuZd4HFeRcIDhRYt-0GMD9XKgEBzmUIw37IWR-J6mieYUfrJEJCa9OOTsG8pt6s3kC1bWrR6sfErxxEvMzolotXV5fVnyWJDQ%3D ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ This year we will experience 4 unusual dates.... 1/1/11, 1/11/11, 11/1/11, 11/11/11 ....
